Private bug encounters and specimen pinning
Give your tiny gathering an insectarium of its own.
Portland Insectarium
This insect-and-arachnid museum offers private insect-pinning lessons with a take-home shadowbox, small-group bug encounters, and staffed traveling displays of living and preserved arthropods. Mobile presentations separate selected touchable animals from terrarium displays; the pinning class uses already-dead specimens.
Current location note / listed area: Portland, Oregon; small private visits and local mobile presentations by arrangement
Private events are advertised, not a wedding package. Pinning sessions are limited to ten people and recommended for ages ten and up; younger participants require a guardian. Confirm species, accessibility, group size and availability. Handling is supervised and species-dependent; tarantula handling is never guaranteed and requires a calm setting. Mobile events need advance arrangements and an appropriate quiet, shaded location. No animal releases or guest access to staff-only species are implied.
