Private fossil-gallery receptions
Hold a reception beneath a sweeping fossil-skeleton display
Alabama Museum of Natural History / University of Alabama Museums
The Alabama Museum of Natural History accepts requests for private receptions and dinners in Smith Hall’s Grand Gallery. Its fossil, rock and mineral exhibits surround the event space; owned rental photography shows a large skeleton suspended through the columned gallery. This is an event inside the collection, not an ordinary university meeting room.

Each request requires museum approval. Confirm current exhibits, layout, access, date, staffing, catering and equipment; exhibits may change and cannot be rearranged. Normal public hours cannot be restricted, and specified university closure dates apply. The linked rental-contract PDF returned 404, but current guidelines and a named direct contact remain available. No wedding package, guided tour, fossil-handling activity or whole-museum buyout is assumed.
