Private chalk-robot and futurist-library venue
Host a small gathering in a library-bar with a chalkboard drawing robot.
The Interval / Long Now Foundation
The Interval is Long Now Foundation’s bar, café and exhibition space, featuring a chalkboard-drawing robot, floor-to-ceiling books and exhibits about long-term thinking. Its current private-event program offers a limited number of full-venue buyouts, making the machine-filled intellectual setting the unusual feature rather than a conventional bar reservation.
Current location note / listed area: Fort Mason Center, San Francisco, California; full-venue private bookings only
Private events are explicit; a wedding package or ceremony permission is not. The venue forbids private events Friday or Saturday after 5 PM, limits guests to 49 indoors or 75 including outdoor space, and requires the agreement at least two weeks ahead. Catering must follow its preferred list; there is no kitchen or food heating/chilling/storage. Confirm current exhibit access and any robot operation separately—no personalized robot drawing or guest control is promised. Availability is selective, not an instant booking.
